Episode Guide
Jeremy Clarkson tests the new BMW M3 at the track before switching to another BMW, the space-age, hybrid-powered i8, for a revealing trip up the A1 to Whitby. When he gets there, and fueled by a portion of fish and chips, Clarkson must decide which of the two he would rather take for the drive home.
Also in this episode, Richard Hammond marks the imminent demise of the legendary Land Rover Defender with a heart-stopping attempt to drive one straight up the side of a dam.
Meanwhile, James May makes a rare trip to the Top Gear track to test the brand new, 500-horsepower Mercedes AMG GT.
The stars in the Reasonably Priced Car are actress Margot Robbie and Hollywood superstar Will Smith.
Some say…
“Some say that last week he won a BAFTA for ‘Best Original Smell’, and that when he dies he thinks you’ll go to Devon. All we know is he’s called the Stig!”

Is it just me or does that AMG look a bit like an F-Type coupe in terms of body shape?

Thank you !
Can someone post a link without it coming from Daily motion because the lag is just too much.
Dear so called Top Gear,
Personally I wan’t more “speed and power” and less facts and information. After all this show is called Top Gear not Fact Gear.
What kind of tv car show don’t show the facts and informations?
Top Gear shows some facts about the cars since that the show returned in the actual style, in 2002 and it’s always being a good thing in the show!
Top Gear isn’t just an show abbout top speeds, smoked tires and humor, it needs some facts too!
Dear so called Top Gear,
More episodes like this please. There is nothing better than when you do a proper car show.
I enjoyed this episode too – a bit of seriousness for a change.
How was Hammond protected though? I noticed he was wearing a mountaineering belt, but unless he was attached to the top of the dam and could get out through the windshield, he wouldn’t survive if the Land Rover plummeted down.
That was some send off. I was getting nervous just watching it.
