Sean from TopGearbox here with an exclusive preview of The Grand Tour Series 3’s fourteenth and final episode – titled “Funeral for a Ford”.
In the final episode of the series, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May present a short and informative history class on one of the bedrocks of British life; the medium-sized Ford saloon.
Starting with the Cortina of the 1960s and ‘70s, the three chart the history of the car that changed British society and provided transport for millions of dads including Clarkson senior and father May though not, to his annoyance, Richard’s dad.
To cover the ‘80s part of this documentary, Richard takes to the track in the legendary Sierra RS Cosworth before all three hosts re-group to celebrate the Ford Mondeo and this model’s unique claim to fame. Since the Mondeo seems certain to cease production without replacement in the coming years, the history lesson ends with a touching memorial service to this totem of British life.
Unfortunately, this episode also marks the end of The Grand Tour Series 3! But what a ride it has been! Do you think this episode will be a fitting end to the series? Let me know in the comments below.

I thought one of the best segments was their conversations that more or less happened organically instead of a separate feature. Conversation street seemed too rehearsed and didn’t have the joy and nonsense of the BBC version. One of the more popular segments in old Youtube videos are those BBC chats. Too bad it didn’t translate well when Amazon took it on. When BBC had it the guys faced each other and it looked more like a conversation than a reading of an instructional manual for some overpriced hyper car. Oh well, as far as the last season 3 episode went it surprised me that at the end they started gushing about what we see in the states as a rather bland Mercury Sable station wagon. Maybe they built them better in the UK but around here in Michigan they quickly became rust buckets, expensive to repair, boring to look at and a great car to blow by a speed trap because even the radar gun didn’t notice it because it was so bland.
Great closing episode to current season featured at Lincoln and very fitting the best British car show around shows respect to the British Ford the corner stone of motoring post WW2 in the UK with more iconic and Collectable cars than any other brand on the roads the UK roads from humble Cortinas & Sierra Cosworths to Focus RS and GT40s, already waiting for series 4 of TGT, as for top gear RIP
Having seen the episode I can confirm it is unmissable, and also the fact Jeremy drives my Cortina 1600E it is especially so, had a good talk with Jeremy and his love for the 1600E

(lovely 1600e) Jeremy was extremely complimentary about my car & genuine grateful for allowing TGT to use it… very genuine & sincere love for the blue oval – looking forward to our TGT party on Friday night!
Will need to see the episode 1st but atm I would of much preferred the see the big Mongolia special and the very end of this series and not classic fords in Lincoln .
They need to do an episode like this as the final episode. Not only are they paying tribute to Fords but waving goodbye to the tent, Eboladrome track tests, Conversation Street and standalone segments.

And what a series It has been. The end of an era. The end of Car Presenting as we know it. No more Eboladrome Track Reviews, No more Conversation Street, No more Single segments and No More Car Tribute Videos. No doubt it will be missed but things move on. And of all cars to end the series with, what better than the Humble Ford Saloon. I personally can’t wait to see what they do here.
As a season filled with al kinds of history lesson,this really makes me think of TG S15E06.In that episode the trio tribute to iconic classic British Roadsters and their demise.I like history lesson.And this is a fitting ending for the end of an era（Studio shows and track tests also end after S03 I remember,future will be extended specials with less episodes）
