Chinese media outlets are currently going wild because team Top Gear have been spotted filming in China!
Jeremy Clarkson and James May recently arrived in Beijing to film a new Top Gear episode, which will presumably feature in series 18. The first segment had James May driving a JAC Binyue, and Jeremy in a Greatwall Haval M2.
The second item is about copied Chinese cars – with a Shuanghuan Noble (looks like a Smart), a Shuanghuan SCO (BMW X5?) and a Lifan 320 (Mini?). In other photos, Jeremy and James are shown looking curiously at an old Chinese 3-wheeler – which just screams Reliant Robin.
A Land Rover Discovery camera-car was also spotted, with Shanghai license plates on it – which either means Top Gear filmed a segment there as well, or perhaps even drove from Shanghai to Beijing.

I can’t wait to see that series next year!
WOW Im so excited!
On my visits to China I have seen lots of those little 3 wheeler cars. In actual fact they are more motorcycle than car. They can seat 2 people (one behind the other) and have handlebars instead of a steering wheel.
Some drivers use the vehicles minute size to their advantage – using bicycle lanes and pedestrian footpaths when the roads are gridlocked!
A hell of a lot more funny than any Reliant Robin I’ve ever seen anyway!
I like the red smart car one, and the red 3 wheeler van, they look like amazing little cars. Anyway, can’t wait for series 18 to start on January 29th
