A few months ago we presented our extremely popular Top 10 Best Top Gear Episodes list – and we’d like to continue on from this with another one!
On average, guests who appear on Top Gear as the “Star in a Reasonably Priced Car” can end up being rather uninteresting, uninspiring people. You can’t wait for them to do their lap around the track, so you can get back to watching Jeremy powerslide a supercar around the Top Gear test track.
But every now and then, you get an absolute gem – a Star in a Reasonably Priced Car worth watching! So who exactly were the very best guests? And by best, we don’t necessarily mean the fastest!
1. Michael McIntyre
Quite possibly the most funny British comedian around at the moment – Michael McIntyre was also one of the most funny guests ever seen on Top Gear. Petrol suitcase!?

2. Michael Gambon
Michael Gambon’s name became synonymous among TopGear viewers after almost rolling the Suzuki Liana the first time around. This is Gambon’s second appearance and its even better!

3. Ellen MacArthur
Ellen stormed to the top of the Liana lapboard after her appearance on TopGear. Quite an accomplishment for a woman who spends more time in rough seas rather than on the road!

4. Jimmy Carr
Despite being beaten by Ellen MacArthur, Jimmy Carr is a funny guy and well worth watching. He may look a little like a ventriloquist’s dummy, but he more than makes up for it with his dazzling wit and one-liners.

5. Rowan Atkinson
Rowan Atkinson is a comic legend and shows that he still has what it takes to be insanely funny. Rowan reviews two cars using his facial expressions only, and reveals how he can make any word sound funny.

6. Martin Clunes
Jeremy and Martin discuss everything from flirting with the satnav lady, to to lawn mowing. Do you go around the trees first and then start striping? An all round funny guy and his laugh is infectious!

7. Tom Cruise & Cameron Diaz
Two top-shelf movie stars on BBC2’s pokey motoring show. Tom & Cameron are very entertaining and both shoot to the top of the lapboard. Cameron Diaz doing doughnuts in a Jaguar XKR? How could you not watch it.

8. Usain Bolt
Usain won the 100m sprint for Jamaica at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He set a new world record despite celebrating the final 10m. Overall he is an interesting and funny guest – he even pokes fun at Jeremy!

The man which Jeremy famously described as “looking like he’d been hit in the face with an axe”. Will Young and Jeremy discover they both share a mutual love of home aesthetics and discuss starting their own TV show.
