New Top Gear host Chris Evans says that he’s not feeling the pressure, but is still questioning whether or not Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May “got out of Top Gear” at the right time. Evans now says that thee success of the show could go one of two ways, “Did they get out at the right time? What have we been given? It’s either a golden nugget or a hospital pass. I’m waiting to find out which,” he said.
He shared in the interview with Event Magazine: “You can’t lose if it looks like you’re on to a total loser from the outside. A lot of people have written the show off before it’s hit the air. Nothing I can do about that other than prove them wrong or confirm that they’re right. But I know what’s in the can.”
Evans’ comments come after Jeremy spoke out about the upcoming series of Top Gear last week, insisting that he’s not tried to “scupper” the new host’s attempt to make the BBC show successful. “What’s very entertaining is that Chris Evans is having a very hard time at the moment as he attempts to put Top Gear back together again. It’s been suggested that I am behind it, that I am trying to scupper him,” Clarkson said.
“But I discovered the other day that every time it gets recommissioned I get paid, so that’s a curious bit of BBC contract but I wish them all the very best.”
Hey I thought the new series was supposed to start last night, may 8? No news about that at all? Or did they change the date to start later or what?
They changed it because it clashed with some big show(Dont remember which one)
