Ferrari to reveal updated FF

Ferrari is reportedly getting ready to reveal a newly updated version of their FF shooting brake. The FF was introduced way back in 2011 and is currently the oldest model in Ferrari’s lineup, but not for much longer.

Ferrari reportedly sent out invitations to select customers recently, inviting them to the debut of a V12 grand tourer with 2+2 seating. While the invite didn’t explicitly name the model, those particular traits could only really apply to the FF. The reveal will take place on February 15 at Villa Erba, the estate neighbouring Villa d’Este on Lake Como that also hosts part of the Concorso d’Eleganza each year. Expect the updated FF to make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show the following month.

It would be safe to assume we’ll see revised styling front and rear with new head and tail lights, bringing the FF into line with Ferrari’s newer models. The 6.3L will most likely carry over, but with a bump in power from 485kW (651hp) up to perhaps around 520kW (700hp) to bridge the gap to the more potent F12 Berlinetta.

Despite the growing popularity of turbocharged or hybrid engines to help battle strict emissions limits, don’t expect the FF to go down the same route – at least not on the current V12 engine. A hybrid version could be in the cards, and rumors have also suggested that a lower-priced V8 version could also be offered, though that might end up encroaching too closely on the California’s territory.
