The first episode of The Grand Tour Series 3 is just 10 days away, and we’ve got an exclusive preview of the very first episode in the series. So let’s not waste any time, and get straight into it!
The first episode of The Grand Tour Series 3 will stream on January 18th 2019 and will be called ‘Motown Funk’. And as you might have guessed from the name, this is the episode where we’ll see Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May head to the American Motor City of Detroit. There, they’ll be driving three highly-tuned American muscle cars – the Ford Mustang RTR Spec 3, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and the Hennessey Exorcist Camaro.
In this episode the boys are horrified to discover that this once-great motor city is now a shadow of its former self, devoting more energy to making organic kale than oversized V8s, and set about bringing some noise and life back to the old place and establish it as a sort of playground for people who’d rather talk about superchargers than spinach.
After staging a drag race on the deserted streets and performing a noise test in an old theatre, the trio find an abandoned car factory and set about turning it into a race track. They then head to a local airfield for the ultimate battle between good and evil.
Also in this episode, Jeremy will be driving the super-lightweight, super-hardcore, 789 horsepower McLaren Senna around Donington Park motorsport circuit, because it’s too fast for the tree-lined and deer-filled Eboladrome test track. The Senna probably isn’t the prettiest supercar you’ve ever seen, and even McLaren themselves describe it as an “unforgiving design in pursuit of absolute performance”.
The first episode of The Grand Tour Series 3 will launch on Amazon Prime Video on January 18th 2019, so if you haven’t got an active Prime Video account yet make sure you sign up here. There will be 12/13 episodes this series
Based on a lot of articles, it seems that Colombia Parts 1 and 2 are going to be next weeks episodes on the 25th/26th January. Also how many episodes this season, I originally thought 12 but some articles claim 14.
Since we may get a show focus on road trip in the future(Which is good for the trio)It’s acceptable to let hyper car test show up first(And become less important than the trio.Something Andy Wilman wont like)
