We’re just days away from being able to watch Episode 1 of The Grand Tour Series 2 – and it is shaping up to be a big one!
The first episode will be titled “Past, Present, or Future,” and will feature Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s road trip to Switzerland in three supercars – a Lamborghini Aventador, Honda NSX and the all-electric Rimac Concept One.
Perhaps the Lambo represents the past, the Honda is the present, and the Rimac is the future..?
While we’re looking forward to seeing the boys back in fine form, we can’t ignore the fact that we already know how this episode ends – with Hammond crashing the Rimac at a Swiss hill climb event. It has been promised that Hammond’s horrific crash and the aftermath will form part of the episode, so get ready for that one.
Hammond was competing in the Hemburg Hill Climb when the Rimac Concept One electric supercar he was driving left a mountain road in St Gallen in northeastern Switzerland and burst into flames. He was airlifted to hospital but tests showed he had escaped the high-speed crash and ensuing fireball with a fractured knee.
Clarkson tweeted about the accident at the time, saying: “It was the biggest crash I have ever seen and the most frightening but incredibly and thankfully, Richard seems to be mostly okay.’’

The new season of The Grand Tour will see the trio visit more locations than ever, before returning home to pitch their studio tent in the Cotswolds, UK. The trio will spend over 100 days across four continents, racking up more passport stamps from Croatia, Mozambique, Dubai, Colorado, Switzerland, New York, Spain and many more exotic locations around the world.
Will you be streaming the first episode on December 8th?
