The Grand Tour is heading to Namibia for a 2-part New Year’s Eve Special

Good news! The team behind The Grand Tour have announced that there will be a 2-part New Year’s Eve special of the show, which will be available to stream on December 30th and 31st respectively. So where will they be going, and what will they be doing?

Well, after hitting Finland for the Christmas special on December 23rd, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May will set off across the African nation of Namibia for an incredible two-part film called ‘The Beach (Buggy) Boys’.

In part one (December 30th), we’ll see the trio off on a challenge set by their grumpy producer Andy Wilman, to show that buggies aren’t just a relic of the 1960s. Jeremy, Richard and James will each customise their own buggy as they set off on a trek through the most beautiful deserts that South West Africa has to offer.

It all goes a bit pear-shaped in part two (December 31st) when Jeremy’s V8-powered buggy is on the verge of breaking down just as he arrives in the Namibian bush. Luckily, the distraction allows the hosts to do a bit of rhino conservation (hopefully it goes better than their cow encounter) and camp out under the stars before setting off on the dangerous final leg of their journey.

I hope they make it on that dangerous journey at the end… it would be a shame to lose one of them now. Anyway…
