This story just goes to show that all-wheel-drive can’t always save you when the pressure in your right foot exceeds your driving skills. Apparently, this 660kW (887hp) Porsche 918 Spyder was too much for the former owner to handle, and he wrecked it after putting just 148km (92mi) on the clock. Chassis number #830 turned up at a salvage auction in Long Island, with bidding up to US$78,500 at the time of writing.
Normally, cars which sustain this level of damage would be written off and sent on a date to the crusher, but limited-edition hypercars are a bit of a different story. A Ferrari Enzo was once written off in a similar manner, but later sold for $1.76m after it was fully restored by Ferrari. That car was literally ripped in half.
So if your pockets are deep enough, Porsche will likely be willing to help you bring this car back to showroom condition. A factory 918 engine reportedly costs over $200,000 and a new transmission costs nearly $70,000, so we can only imagine how much it’d cost to bring this car back from the dead.

Retards who do that to cars like this deserve to die very gruesome deaths, preferably in the crash itself. Blithering idiot (the driver of the 918).
