If a new YouTube video posted by Michelin is anything to go by, it appears that The Grand Tour were the very first to get their hands on the new Bugatti Chiron hypercar – and we may even see it in the final episode which streams this Friday. If we’re lucky.
While we can’t exactly confirm whether the 1,500hp Chiron will feature in tomorrow’s episode of The Grand Tour, we think there’s a pretty good chance that it’ll make an appearance. After all, the description in Amazon’s official trailer for the final episode promises a drag race between the “recently deceased” Bugatti Veyron and the current hypercar speed champion, the Porsche 918 Spyder. You’ve got to admit, that’d be a rather neat segway to introduce the Bugatti Chrion, wouldn’t it?
Another pointer is the fact that The Grand Tour worked with Michelin to create the video you see above, which reveals some interesting tidbits of information about the Chiron – including the fact that it’ll drink its entire 22-gallon gas tank in just 9 minutes if you’ve got your foot to the floor.
The video also leaves us wondering what speed the Bugatti Chiron will top out at, but for the moment it is unlikely to be faster than the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport’s 267.8 mph land speed record. That’s because Bugatti is limiting the Chiron to this speed until the company themselves have a go at breaking the record – scheduled for sometime in 2018.
