April Fools: Clarkson scores role on ‘Better Call Saul’

Ex-Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has reportedly accepted an offer to star in the second season of the American television drama series Better Call Saul. It is understood that talks between Saul’s creator Vince Gilligan and Clarkson took place early last month, shortly after he was suspended by the BBC.

Clarkson’s publicist from Performing Artistes Agency, Linda Roch, confirmed the signing this morning, just hours after his contract with the BBC lapsed.

“Having been a fan of Breaking Bad for many years, Jeremy is incredibly excited to have been offered this role and he seized it with both hands,” Roch said.

“We weren’t able to announce anything until Jeremy’s contract with the BBC expired, but now that its all out of the way we wanted to make an announcement immediately to inform his millions of fans around the world that they’ll be seeing him back on television soon.”

The second season of Saul is slated to begin early 2016, but a source inside the production team has suggested that Clarkson may play the role of a British drug kingpin, who runs an operation out of Las Vegas and is looking to expand his operations into Albuquerque. If true, the move means Clarkson will follow a well-worn Hollywood tradition of a British actor being cast as a villain.

While many have criticised the move, the fact remains that Clarkson is extremely comfortable with acting in-front of the camera, after dealing with many years of scripted scenes in Top Gear. So the move to acting full time is in fact a fairly natural progression for him.

We’re looking forward to seeing him in action early next year and will bring you all the latest developments as they happen. Stay tuned!

The gold tint on his helmet looks rubbish.

Also, does this mean that Hamster has left too? Otherwise he’d be up there too.

Happy April fools everyone – I hope none of you feel disappointed. As much as I think Jeremy would make a good villain, let us hope he does something more car related!

If you look closely in the final photo it says ‘Gullible’ on his forehead.

What would have been a better joke is to say that the BBC have decided to hire him again lol xD
