Chris Harris crashes his Porsche GT3 Touring

Top Gear presenter Chris Harris has been involved in a car crash this week, while out and about working for the show’s magazine. Harris walked away uninjured from the crash, which saw his black Porsche GT3 Touring receive some pretty heavy front-end damage.

The crash occurred on the A466 near Tintern at around 13:30 GMT on Monday, as Harris rounded a blind corner and found a pick-up truck performing a 3-point turn in the middle of the road. On Instagram, he described the crash as being “unavoidable” and “just one of those things.”

“Police confirmed speed wasn’t a factor,” Harris added. “And I wasn’t the one issued a penalty notice.”

A Spokesman for BBC Top Gear said: “We can confirm that Chris Harris was involved in a car accident in Wales earlier today whilst working on a feature for Top Gear magazine. Chris, his passenger, and the driver of the other car, were unhurt and Police were called to the scene.”

Earlier in the day, Harris posted a photo on Instagram of the black Porsche GT3 sitting beside an R34 GTR, with the comment “When the photographer arrives with at least 200hp more.”

Series 26 of Top Gear – Matt LeBlanc’s last as lead host – will debut in early 2019 on BBC Two, followed by Paddy, Freddie and Chris’s all-new Series 27 later in the year.
