The Grand Tour Series 4 “Seamen” Preview

It feels like forever since The Grand Tour Series 3 graced the screens of our devices, but #amazonshitshow is finally back for Series 4. Leaving the tent behind, Clarkson, Hammond, and May are back with the first of a series of feature-length specials.

Taking a one time only break from cars, the boys set out on an epic journey across Cambodia and Vietnam…in boats. This adventure-packed voyage sees the hapless trio experience thrills, spills and genuine danger as they try to navigate their way through the world’s most iconic waterway – the Mekong Delta.

Naturally, the bickering trio set sail in three very different types of vessels. Jeremy, ever the diplomat, opts for a PBR (Patrol Boat, River), the famed jet-powered Vietnam War fighting boat as seen in Apocalypse Now.

Richard channels his inner Don Johnson by choosing a Miami Vice style speedboat, and Naval Captain Slow brings a touch of canal holiday style to the Mekong, with an 80-year-old wooden river cruiser.

Both men and machines face an 800km journey that turns out to be more difficult than anything they have experienced in cars. Flash storms, crashes, gigantic weed beds, and even global warming all conspire to thwart their progress, and the climax of this epic voyage is one of the most dangerous challenges Clarkson, Hammond, May – and their film crew – have ever endured.

The new format of special only show means GT is now focusing more on the trio than cars(Unlike TG which was a car show before the trio led it to world famous)I dont think it is a good thing.Sure Clarkson still telling valuable contents about the war and history. But the freedom of focus only on the trio may lead to weird contents that wont appeal to petrolheads like TG did in the past.Anyway it’s a good episode overall if by trio fans standard. But nothing close to a treat for petrolheads like old times
