Clarkson says there will be no swearing on The Grand Tour

If you thought that being released from the shackles of the BBC would mean Clarkson, Hammond and May would smash open the swear jar on The Grand Tour, think again.

In fact, far from it. Jeremy Clarkson told us that he actually wants his new show on Amazon Prime to be as family-friendly as possible.

“We never swore on the old show,” he said. “Sometimes you go ‘f**king hell’ when you’re a bit frightened but we’d beep it.

“It’s not like you’re deliberately swearing. I wanted to make a programme where if a child says to its mother or father, ‘I want to watch that programme’, the parents have got to be completely comfortable with the fact that there’s nothing unpleasant in it. Well, no swearing.”

He gloriously added: “Even though we could say c**t if we wanted to.”

I wonder if mild insults like “You pillock” will still be in there.
